Our best homemade crispy fries

Instructions

• 1.Potato preparation

  Peel and cut the potatoes into equal-sized sticks (about 1cm thick).
  Boil in a pot of water for 6 minutes and drain.
  Then immediately soak them in cold or ice water for 30 minutes to remove excess starch.
  

• 2.Drying

  Drain the fries well and dry them carefully with a clean towel.
  This is a crucial step for crispy fries.
  

• 3.Seasoning

  In a large bowl, mix the fries with olive oil, salt, smoked paprika and garlic powder until well coated.
  

• 4.Air fryer cooking

  Preheat the air fryer to 180°C.
  Place the fries in the basket without overcrowding.
  Cook for 12 minutes, shake the basket, then increase the temperature to 200°C and continue cooking 8-10 minutes until golden and crispy.
  

• 5.Serving

  Serve immediately with extra salt if desired.
  Pair with a homemade sauce (mayonnaise, ketchup or andalouse sauce).
